Clinical Workflow Digitization
Across a National Platform
Bridges Health needed to modernize patient intake, scheduling, and clinical program delivery across a national occupational health network. Green Platform delivered a modular digital platform that streamlined workflows and enabled scalable multi-site deployment.
The Challenge
Bridges Health is a national occupational health provider delivering return-to-work programs, functional ability assessments, and workplace health services across multiple locations. Like many healthcare organizations that grew through expansion rather than digitization-first planning, their clinical operations relied on a combination of paper forms, disconnected systems, and manual scheduling workflows.
This created practical problems at scale: patient intake was slow and error-prone, scheduling required manual coordination across sites, clinical staff spent disproportionate time on administrative tasks rather than patient care, and reporting across locations required manual data consolidation. As the organization grew, these friction points compounded.
Our Approach
Green Platform approached the digitization as a workflow redesign, not just a digitization of existing paper processes. Simply converting forms to digital without rethinking the workflow structure would preserve existing inefficiencies in a new medium. We mapped the clinical workflows end-to-end before writing a line of code.
Patient intake: A streamlined digital intake system that collected the necessary clinical information efficiently, with smart conditional logic to surface relevant fields based on the type of assessment. Integrated directly with scheduling to eliminate the intake-to-appointment handoff gap.
Scheduling and coordination: Multi-location scheduling with capacity management, automated appointment confirmations and reminders, and real-time visibility across sites. Clinical staff could see availability and book across the network without manual coordination calls.
Program delivery: Modular program management tools that could be configured for different occupational health programs — return-to-work, functional ability assessments, workplace health initiatives — without requiring custom development for each program type.
Privacy and compliance: As a Canadian healthcare organization, Bridges Health operates under PIPEDA and provincial health privacy legislation. All data handling, retention, and access controls were designed to meet these requirements, with particular attention to occupational health data which involves employer relationships as well as patient care.
The Technology Stack
The Outcome
The platform delivered a 3x improvement in workflow efficiency across clinical operations. Patient intake time decreased significantly, scheduling coordination overhead was largely eliminated, and clinical staff reporting that the platform allowed them to focus substantially more time on direct patient care.
The modular architecture means new program types and additional locations can be onboarded without custom development work — the platform scales with Bridges Health's continued expansion.
